Chelsea have officially submitted a written proposal to Barcelona for Spanish midfielder Fermín López as they push to secure his signature before the close of the summer transfer window.
The Blues reportedly tabled an initial €40 million offer on Saturday, immediately after their 2-0 Premier League victory over Fulham. The club is now awaiting Barcelona’s response to the bid.
López, 21, has become an important figure at Camp Nou under head coach Hansi Flick, making 47 appearances last season, scoring eight goals and providing 10 assists.
Meanwhile, former Barcelona assistant coach Jordi Roura has advised the midfielder to remain in Spain, urging him not to leave the Catalan giants for Stamford Bridge.
