Werder Bremen defender Felix Agu says he is eager to make his competitive debut for the Super Eagles as Nigeria prepares for a crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Saturday.
Agu, 25, was born in Germany to Nigerian parents and previously featured for Germany at the U-20 level before switching his international allegiance to Nigeria earlier this year.
The versatile full-back was part of the Super Eagles squad that competed at the Unity Cup Invitational Tournament in London in May, where he made his debut in Nigeria’s thrilling 5-4 final victory over Jamaica.
Speaking ahead of the Rwanda clash, Agu described the opportunity to represent Nigeria as a special privilege.
“It’s a big honour to come here to represent the Super Eagles, to represent my home country. It’s not just a usual thing; it’s one of the biggest countries in Africa,” he told Football Fans Tribe.
With the Super Eagles chasing a spot at the 2026 World Cup, Agu is determined to make his mark and establish himself as a key figure in the national team setup.
