Transfer: Leverkusen Chief’s Comment Casts Doubt on Boniface’s Move to AC Milan

Bayer Leverkusen sporting director, Simon Rolfes, has hinted that Victor Boniface’s proposed move to AC Milan may collapse.

Although both clubs had reached an agreement for the Nigerian striker’s transfer, concerns have emerged over his fitness following medical tests conducted by Milan on Friday and Saturday.

Reports indicate that Boniface is expected to return to Germany today as the Serie A side continues to deliberate on whether to finalize the deal.

Speaking to BILD, Rolfes was unequivocal about what Boniface’s return would mean:

“If Boniface comes back to Leverkusen, the AC Milan deal will be over. That’s no big secret,” he said.

The 23-year-old forward, who impressed in the Bundesliga last season, had been widely expected to join the Rossoneri this summer.
