Official: Carney Chukwuemeka Completes Permanent Move to Borussia Dortmund

 

Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka has sealed a permanent transfer to Borussia Dortmund.

Chukwuemeka, who joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in August 2022, made 32 first-team appearances for the Blues, scoring twice during his time at Stamford Bridge.

The 21-year-old midfielder featured five times for Chelsea last season, with his last appearance coming in the UEFA Conference League victory over Astana.

In the second half of the 2024/25 campaign, Chukwuemeka was loaned to Dortmund, where he impressed across 17 appearances, including four outings at the FIFA Club World Cup, a tournament Chelsea went on to win.

The England U-21 international now makes the switch permanent as he continues his development in the Bundesliga.

Chelsea thanked Chukwuemeka for his contributions and wished him success in the next chapter of his career.
